Pearson VUE to replace Prometric for all PMI exams!

For the last several decades the Project Management Institute (PMI)® has been using Prometric for its exams. If you wanted to pass a PMI exam then, in most cases, you needed to do so at a Prometric testing center.

This week, PMI® announced that beginning July 1st 2019 it is moving to Pearson VUE for all its certification examinations worldwide (except for China).

Risk Management Workshop for the Executive MBA 2nd year students of Sheffield University for a 2nd year!

‘Risk Management: A way to avoid Crisis Management and Management of Losses’ was the title of  the workshop conducted in 2 groups in Thessaloniki on 15th and 16th of April 2019. The workshop was conducted for a 2nd year in a row and was addressed to 121 Executive MBA 2nd year students of Sheffield University from 11 countries (Bulgaria, Romania Ukraine, Italy, Georgia, Serbia, Armenia, FYROM, Greece, Kosovo and Albania) that visited Thessaloniki for a week. Due to the large number of participants the workshop was conducted in 2 groups.


The current business climate is increasingly uncertain and companies need their employees to be competent, efficient and knowledgeable when it comes to managing Opportunities and Threats. Every employee need to ensure he or she is up-to-date on international standards and best practice required to effectively mitigate threats and capitalise on opportunities to save company’s time and money.


During our workshop, participants were familiarized with all the processes of Risk Management during a Project through a detailed and realistic scenario.

First, we read and analyzed our Project Charter:



As a second step, the participants were separated into teams and started to Identify the Stakeholders of the Project:



Next step was the composition of our Risk Management Plan which was followed by the Identification of Opportunities and Threats of the Project. The workshop teams have used the appropriate Risk templates inside the classroom and fill them in with post-its after agruements regarding the nature of each Risk:



Afterwards, we discussed about the Analysis of the Identified Risks through Qualitative methods so as to prioritize Opportunities and Threats:



Our last actions were the Identification of Risk Responses and how we will Monitor our Risks during the execution of the project:





The smiling faces at the end of the workshops are the evidence that objective was accomplished and knowledge was gained!

Risk Management Unit (2nd part) for 3rd-year students of Sheffield University

On the 12th, 13th and 15th of April undergraduate students (3rd level) from the Business Administration and Economics Department attended the second part of the Risk Management Unit, led by Mr. Athanasios Fourtounas, Trainer, Economist and Director of Logistics in JLSG NATO (Italy).

During the three-day part topics discussed included. Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Analysis, Plan Risk Responses and Monitor and Control Risks.

Continuing our Risk workshop, students worked on teams so as to produce products regarding Risk Analysis and Risk Responses

Moreover, the first two teams of the students presented their assignments on a Stakeholders Case study about the “Construction of the Algerian highway” and an Identify Risks Case Study about the “Construction of Opera House in Sydney”.


The Risk Management unit concluded with a guest lecture by Mr Dimitrios Zaires, an SME of Supplychains and Logistics who currently working for NATO. The speaker presented how Risk Management is applied in Supplychains and Logistic companies. Students had the opportunity to see how risk management works the real world and gain valuable insights.

The course will be concluded on 31st of May where the last 2 groups will present their assignments as well as all the class will submit their final assignment regarding Plan Risk Management

It is my pleasure to welcome a dear colleague and a former student of mine, Mr. Dimitrios Zaires as a guest speaker, in my class regarding Project Risk Management, on Monday, 15th of April. Mr. Zaires will elaborate with the 3rd level, Management Track students of Sheffield University about the risks in Supply Chains and how Supply Chain companies are exploiting the opportunities as well as avoiding the threats in nowadays.

Beginning of the 13th PMI-RMP® online Prep course March 2019 is a fact!

Participants, located in 4 different countries (Greece, Belgium, China & Afganistan ), are gaining deep knowledge concerning Risk Management but also are starting to prepare for the PMI-RMP exam according to the PMI® standards. The seminar will be concluded after 8 training sessions through Human Asset’s Group company synchronous training platform.


But the preparation and support don’t stop here. For the following weeks after the completion of the course, the participants will receive a lot of study material and mock tests through the asynchronous training platform of Human Asset Group Company in order to be successfully prepared for the PMI-RMP exam and acquire the certification before September 2019!

Risk Workshop για Identify Risks από τα στελέχη της Embryolab στην Θεσσαλονίκη!

Στις 30 Μαρτίου 2019 στο κτίριο της Embryolab στην Θεσσαλονίκη πραγματοποιήθηκε από την Human Asset το 3ο από τα 6 συνολικά εργαστήρια σχετικά με τη “Διαχείρισης Ρίσκων σε Έργα” με τη συμμετοχή 20 στελεχών της εταιρίας.

Τα στοχευμένα workshops έχουν σχεδιαστεί και είναι προσαρμοσμένα σε πραγματικά έργα που διαχειρίζονται τα στελέχη της εταιρίας αλλά και στην καθημερινή λειτουργία της εταιρίας ώστε η φιλοσοφία του Risk Management να ενσωματωθεί πλήρως στην κουλτούρα της εταιρίας. Βάσει του παραπάνω πλαισίου εκπαίδευσης, στο συγκεκριμένο workshop εξετάστηκαν οι διαδικασίες που αφορούν το “Identify Risks”
Κατά την διάρκεια του Workshop αφού αναπτύχθηκε το θεωρητικό υπόβαθρο της διεργασίας, τα στελέχη με την καθοδήγηση τόσο του εισηγητή κ. Φουρτούνα Αθ. όσο και της Risk Team της εταιρίας, προχώρησαν στην αναγνώριση των Ευκαιριών και Απειλών (Opportunities & Threats) τόσο στα Project της εταιρίας όσο και στην καθημερινότητά της.


Επιπρόσθετα, μέσα από εκτενή συζήτηση τέθηκαν οι απαραίτητες βάσεις για την αρχική συμπλήρωση του “Risk Register” της εταιρίας.
Το Risk Team της EMbryolab σε συνεργασία με όλα τα τμήματα και το προσωπικό της εταιρίας, θα αναγνωρίσει και θα καταχωρήσει στο Risk Register το σύνολο των Ευκαιριών και Απειλών (Risks) που αφορούν την εταιρία στο χρονικό διάστημα που απομένει μέχρι την επόμενη συνάντηση.
Η όλη διαδικασία αναγνώρισης και ανάλυσης των ρίσκων θα ακολουθήσει όσα αναφέρονται στο καταρτιζόμενο “Risk Management Plan”, σχετικά με την χρήση κατάλληλα εξειδικευμένων εργαλείων ώστε μέχρι την επόμενη μας συνάντηση τον Ιούνιο η ομάδα να περάσει άμεσα.
Η συνεργασία στην εκπαίδευση με την Human Asset συνεχίζεται δεδομένου ότι θα ακολουθήσουν ακόμη 3 συναντήσεις στη Θεσσαλονίκη όπου σε συνέχεια των στοχευμένων και προσαρμοσμένων σε πραγματικά έργα workshops θα εφαρμόσουμε το παραγόμενο Risk Management Plan σε ότι αφορά τα στάδια Risk Analysis, Risk Responses και Monitor Risks.
Όλα τα παραπάνω συζητήθηκαν μέσα σε ένα ευχάριστο και ενθουσιώδες περιβάλλον με τη συμμετοχή των στελεχών της Embryolab. Μια εταιρία η οποία προσφέρει την τεχνογνωσία της και τις υπηρεσίες της σε πολλά μέρη του πλανήτη ενώ η αισιοδοξία, όρεξη αλλά και ο ζήλος των στελεχών είναι εμφανή στα πρόσωπά τους!

Ευχαριστούμε για την εμπιστοσύνη την Embryolab και ευχόμαστε θερμά τα θέματα που συζητήθηκαν να συμβάλουν στην περαιτέρω αναπτυξιακή πορεία της εταιρίας.

“Integrating Risk Management in J8 projects” for NATO officers in NRDC-GR

On 13th of March in my hometown (Thessaloniki), I had the honor to conduct a workshop with the title “Integrating Risk Management in J8 projects of NATO” in NRDC-GR. Participants of the workshop were 40 NATO officers from 12 countries and 10 different HQs of NATO. The objective of this 6 hours workshop was for the participants to gain knowledge concerning the principles and the procedures of Risk Management in J8 projects according to PMI standards.


All NATO officers were participating in the Budget-Fiscal-Procurement Conference (BOFOPO) and the workshop was conducted during the 2nd day of the conference.


During the workshop we used a real life scenario so as:

a. To Identify and Analyze Stakeholders


b. To create a Risk Management Plan


c. To Identify Threats & Opportunities


d. To Analyze Risks


e. To Plan & Implement Responses to Risks


f. And finally to Monitor Risks


The participants in order to fullfill the above, they formed multinational teams  so as to cooperate and produce quality products.
